Through her insightful and honest blog and Facebook page “Mrs Mindfulness”, Melli shares her mindful learning through easy to understand teachings that can be applied to everyday life. Melli O’Brien is an internationally accredited meditation and yoga teacher who specializes in ‘immersion’ mindfulness retreats. Known for her down-to-earth, engaging and authentic teaching, she has guided thousands of people through her popular retreats and courses.

Come and join us for two nourishing days of mindfulness on this weekend retreat in the beautiful Mary Valley. You’ll have the chance to slow down, tune in and unwind with gentle mindful movement practice, meditation and a deep relaxation meditation called Yoga Nidra. Meet like-minded people and leave feeling reconnected with yourself and your life.

Commencing on Friday evening, enjoy the sunset over the beautiful Mary Valley countryside before joining other like-minded guests for a delicious dinner featuring healthy local produce. Following an introduction to the weekend, Melli will lead an evening meditation. Never done meditation before? No problem. This is the time and place to give it a try.

Start Saturday with yoga meditation before breakfast. Enjoy a day of insightful learning, reflection and revitalisation. Sunday will have you refreshed, reset and ready for anything.

Friday check in from 4pm for a 5pm start. Please just let us know if you will be arriving later so we can cater for you accordingly.  
Concluding Sunday at 3pm.   



The sessions will be a blend of gentle yoga, meditation, relaxation practices and breathing practices. There will also be a short talk each day about an aspect of mindful living.

‘Weekends of Mindfulness’ are an opportunity to spend the whole weekend practising yoga, meditation and mindfulness with a community of like-minded people.

An immersion weekend like this is an opportunity to experience the life-enhancing benefits of living truly in the present and offers a quality of experience that deepens over time. When we allow ourselves this time, we gain insight into ourselves and how we connect with life in the moment.

Over the course of the weekend, you’ll experience a blend of mindfulness practices including yoga, pranayama, sitting meditation, walking meditation, body scan meditation, mindful eating, mindful listening, karma yoga (which means to engage in every day activities mindfully) and more.

This retreat is a nurturing, enlightening and rejuvenating retreat that will leave you feeling more conscious and connected when you return to daily life.

THE VENUE Location

Garapine is located in the beautiful Mary Valley, 15 minutes south of Gympie, 2 hours north of Brisbane or 40 minutes from Noosa. The 180 acre property is surrounded by natural bushland and 360 degree views of the countryside.



Garapine has shared accommodation rooms, each with their own adjoining bathroom and deck overlooking the Mary Valley.

There will be a maximum of 5 retreat guests per shared room, allowing plenty of space to spread out in the large rooms. Please BYO linen for a single bed.

All meals are included from Friday dinner through to Sunday lunch. Enjoy fresh local produce from the Mary Valley with nourishing home-cooked meals.
